The best App Store screenshot generators in 2026

Ten tools compared on what actually matters when you ship: price, whether AI designs the set for you, whether your AI agent can drive it, and whether it uploads straight to App Store Connect.

Disclosure: this page is published by Agent C, one of the tools compared. Every competitor fact comes from that company's own website or docs, checked on October 4, 2026. If something changed, email jacob@theagentc.io and we'll update it.

Three kinds of tool

App Store screenshot tools have split into three groups, and picking the right group matters more than picking the right brand.

  1. AI designers (Agent C, AppLaunchFlow, Screenies, AppScreenshotStudio) read your app and produce a designed set: headlines, layout and style. You review and edit instead of starting from a blank frame.
  2. Template editors (AppScreens, The App Launchpad, Screenhance) give you device frames and layouts; you write the copy and arrange every slide.
  3. Mockup and motion tools (Rotato, Previewed) make beautiful 3D device shots and video, usually for one hero image rather than a full listing.

fastlane sits apart: it frames screenshots from a config file and uploads them with deliver. It's free and scriptable, but you write every caption.

The tools, one by one

Agent C

Upload 6–10 raw screenshots and pick how the set opens: a hand holding your phone, your app icon with feature tags, a lifestyle photo made for your app, or a plain phone. Claude then designs the whole set: the order, a claim headline per slide written from your app's real numbers, magnified close-ups of the UI that proves each claim, and colors pulled from your app. Quick Edit changes any headline, screenshot or layout without dragging.

Designing is free. A finished set is $9.99, or Studio ($29.99/month, $199/year) unlocks every set plus a full canvas editor. Unlocked sets download at exact App Store sizes or go straight into your app's draft version in App Store Connect (how that works). Its MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor or Codex do the whole thing from one sentence, including the upload. See a real set.

Best for: indie developers who want a finished, on-brand set without designing it, and anyone who works through an AI agent.

AppLaunchFlow

An all-in-one launch workspace: AI-written screenshot layouts and copy, promo videos, icons, ASO copy, localization, keyword tracking and a hosted landing page. Paid plans upload to App Store Connect, and the Unlimited plan (€15/month) includes a hosted MCP server. There's also a €9 one-time, 7-day Launch Pass.

Best for: launching a new app and wanting screenshots, video and ASO in one subscription.

Screenies

An AI generator that keeps your real UI inside the device frame and generates scenes, props and headlines around it. It's sold as one-time credit packs ($9, $19, $39) that never expire, and every pack includes App Store Connect and Google Play upload from the dashboard. Its hosted MCP server signs in with OAuth.

Best for: pay-as-you-go AI sets with localization.

AppScreens

A mature template editor covering nine stores, with AI captions and restyling on paid plans and one-click upload to App Store Connect and Google Play, including Custom Product Pages. Pro is $99/year, Scale $180/year. MCP is announced as coming soon.

Best for: teams shipping to many stores and locales who are happy to design slides themselves.

ButterKit

A native Mac app with 3D mockups, translation (on-device or with your own AI keys) and App Store Connect management. Pro is $99 one-time. Its MCP server is a local bridge into the running app, with App Store Connect tools among its 42 tools.

Best for: Mac-based developers who want a one-time purchase and fine manual control.

AppScreenshotStudio

A chat-based AI generator: describe what you want and refine the set by chatting. Plans are billed yearly ($59.88–$239.88), with a REST and MCP API on the upper tiers. Exports are files you upload yourself.

Best for: people who like iterating on a design by chatting.

Screenhance, The App Launchpad and Previewed

Template and mockup editors with no AI-written sets and no direct upload. Screenhance ($6 Launch Pass, $12/month) adds GIF and WebM motion and launch graphics. The App Launchpad ($10/month) has 1,000+ templates and AI translation. Previewed ($9.99 one-time, $19/month) is strong on 3D and video mockups.

Rotato

A Mac app for gorgeous 3D device renders and animations, $79–$199 one-time. Ideal for a hero shot or a launch video, not for producing a full listing.

fastlane frameit + deliver

Free and open source. frameit adds frames and captions from a config file; deliver uploads screenshots and metadata to App Store Connect. Perfect inside a CI pipeline, but you write and maintain every caption, and the built-in frames lag behind current devices.

How to choose

  • You want it done for you, today: an AI designer. Agent C if you want art direction and $9.99 per set; Screenies for credit packs; AppLaunchFlow if you also want video and ASO.
  • You work through Claude Code, Cursor or Codex: a tool with an MCP server. Agent C and ButterKit can also upload to App Store Connect from the agent.
  • You want full manual control across many stores: AppScreens.
  • You want one stunning 3D shot: Rotato or Previewed.
  • You want it free and scripted: fastlane.

FAQ

What is the best App Store screenshot generator in 2026?

It depends on what you want done for you. If you want the whole set designed for you and uploaded to App Store Connect, Agent C, AppLaunchFlow and Screenies use AI to design it. If you want to design every frame yourself, The App Launchpad, AppScreens and Screenhance are template editors. Rotato and Previewed are best for 3D hero shots, and fastlane is the free choice for engineering teams.

Which App Store screenshot tools work with Claude Code or Cursor (MCP)?

Agent C, Screenies and AppLaunchFlow run hosted MCP servers; ButterKit and AppScreenshotStudio run local ones. Agent C and ButterKit expose App Store Connect upload as an MCP tool, so your agent can send the finished set to your draft version.

Which tools upload screenshots directly to App Store Connect?

Agent C, AppLaunchFlow, Screenies, AppScreens, ButterKit and fastlane deliver all upload through the App Store Connect API. Screenhance, The App Launchpad, Previewed, Rotato and AppScreenshotStudio export files you upload yourself.
